Dear Friends and Neighbors,
The other night, a neighbor of mine was having chest pains at 2:00 A.M. 911 was dialed and the Ardsley P.D. sent out a call to the members of the Ardsley-Secor Volunteer Ambulance Corps. My crew that night got up and transported this person to the Hospital, where two stents were placed within the next hour and a half. On this past Sunday, as I am writing this, we received two calls simultaneously, one for a car accident on the New York State thruway and one for a neighbor who fell and possibly broke a hip. We responded with two crews of members. ASVAC serves the entire Ardsley school district. We at ASVAC are proud of our ability to respond to your emergencies at all hours of the day or night.
We now have two ambulances and are responding to more emergencies than ever. We need your help. We have to build an addition to our building to house our second ambulance. We need approximately $125,000 dollars to build our addition. Please be generous this year. We do not receive any funds from the Village or from your tax dollars. While we do bill for our services, these monies only cover our operating expenses. We are a tax deductible non-profit organization.
In an effort to meet these challenges we are looking for two things this year. We need your financial support and we need members who are around in the Village during the daytime hours of 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM who would like to serve their community. To learn more about how you can help, feel free to contact me at: mail@asvac.org or speak to any ASVAC member.
Thank you for helping us to maintain our excellence in emergency services. We pride ourselves on our professionalism and compassion. We strive to be the best and are constantly improving to serve you better.
Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Charles Strick, Captain
